Earlier this month, the US Department of Health & Human Services announced a new public-private effort that aims to help Americans understand health and health care performance in their communities and to help spark and facilitate action to improve performance.  It’s called the Community Health Data Initiative l.  The goals are to provide Community Health Data Sets harvested from across HHS- data that’s easily accessible, standardized, structured, downloadable data on health care, health, and determinants of health performance at the national, state, and county levels.

The national point person called me this week to talk about our arizonahealthmatters.org website- because it’s a state example of the kind of site that meets most of their national objectives.
