The AZ Developmental Disability Planning Council is proud to announce an exciting new grant opportunity for organizations that want to help folks with developmental disabilities and their families develop their own cottage industry food business. The initiative is tied to one of our primary goals on the Council: to help folks with developmental disabilities to find employment- in this case self-employment.
The goal is to leverage AZs new cottage industry food program to increase self-employment for persons with developmental disabilities through an innovative, integrated and supported self-employment program. It’s called Project SELF, and we’re looking for organizations to bid on a grant to help folks with developmental disabilities and their families develop small businesses using the Home-Baked and Confectionary Goods Program. Federal funds of up to $300K will be available to qualifying grant applications.
