Today is Arizona State Employee Recognition Day, as proclaimed by Governor Doug Ducey.
The governor’s proclamation notes that state employees contribute significantly to the well-being and quality of life for all Arizonans. It adds that state employees embody the “spirit of service” that helps make Arizona a one-of-a-kind place to live, work, and play.
As interim director of ADHS, I have the privilege of seeing what our highly engaged employees do every day to promote health and wellness throughout our state.
Here is just part of the note I’ve sent employees to mark this important day:
Every one of your unique roles is vital to the mission of ADHS, and I’m so grateful you continually choose to dedicate your time and energy to public health. As a state employee, the work you do every day is life-changing.
Over the last year, it has been incredible to see the achievements of both our individual team members and our diverse, talented teams. Your efforts are making a visible, remarkable difference in Arizona communities.
It’s rewarding beyond measure to reflect on our employees’ achievements during this global pandemic, but I’m even more excited about successes that are to come. This is a truly exciting time to be part of ADHS as we aim for even more ambitious goals and move a wide range of projects and initiatives toward fruition, all for the betterment of Arizona.
I hope you will join the governor and me today in recognizing the hard work and dedication of state employees, including those I work with at ADHS.
