Our partnership building skills were highlighted at the United States Conference on AIDS on September 13, in Washington, D.C. Our Office of Disease Integration and Services, HIV Prevention Program, and Maricopa County Ryan White Part A Program were selected from a pool of a thousand applicants to facilitate a three hour workshop “Thrown Under the Bus: Strategies for Integrated Planning when Relationships are Tense.”
The team provided a visually stimulating presentation, led a participant-driven workshop featuring multiple quality improvement techniques for evaluating strained relationships, and presented two models for fostering open communication and transparency. The session prepared participants to improve coordination and consistency among public health programs at county, state, and community based organization levels.
Participants from across the country noted that the session was “practical” and “the most helpful session/best session of the entire four day conference.” Congratulations to the team for being recognized for their innovative and impactful approach to this topic.
