The 2018–2019 influenza season has arrived in Arizona! Since the beginning of October, Arizona had 56 laboratory-confirmed cases of influenza reported from 10 counties, compared to 16 cases typically seen at this time of year.

This means if you and your family have not been vaccinated for this season, now is the time. The influenza vaccine is the best way to protect you and your family from getting influenza. The CDC recommends that all people six months or older receive the vaccine as soon as possible.

For a list of influenza vaccine clinics near you, visit vaccinefinder.org. Other ways to stop the spread of germs are to properly wash your hands, cover coughs and sneezes, and stay home from work or school if you are sick.

You can stay up-to-date on influenza activity in Arizona throughout the season by viewing our NEW interactive influenza dashboard, and subscribing at azhealth.gov/email to receive the weekly influenza report via email.
