In response to client and provider concerns, we have been working with Maricopa County to develop an improved eligibility process for clients participating in the Ryan White and AIDS Drug Assistance Programs. These programs are critical to providing care, services, and medication assistance to people living with HIV/AIDS who meet specific eligibility requirements, but the application process can be time consuming and cumbersome.
Through a coordinated effort between ADHS, Maricopa County, and Care Directions, a 12-page application has been reduced to eight pages. In addition, Maricopa County and ADHS previously separately verified client eligibility for program participation through distinct applications. The new process allows clients to submit a joint application to all programs.
Many thanks to our partners at state, local, and community levels who were committed to increasing service to our population and improving client experience. Diligence in gathering community feedback, developing shared policies and processes, testing and piloting the new application during the last three years has resulted in increased efficiency and better customer service.
This is another example of how we are finding new ways to streamline our processes so government can move at the speed of business.
