A public service announcement featuring Governor Doug Ducey and Dr. Richard Carmona, 17th U.S. Surgeon General and the governor’s adviser on public health preparedness, is now airing on Arizona television stations in addition to social media and streaming media.
I hope you’ll heed their advice to help protect yourself and others from COVID-19:
- Get vaccinated if you aren’t already.
- Get a booster dose if you are eligible.
“COVID-19 vaccines and boosters save lives,” Governor Ducey says in the PSA. “Roll up your sleeve today.”
Dr. Carmona’s message drives home the importance of vaccination to community health.
“Our hospitals are strained because of COVID-19 patients, most of whom are unvaccinated,” he says in the PSA. “To protect yourself and to help hospitals care for everyone, we need more people to get the vaccine. It’s safe, free, and extremely effective.
“If you are vaccinated,” Dr Carmona adds, “we need you to get a booster so your protection is up to date.”
You can find a convenient vaccine provider at azhealth.gov/FindVaccine or by calling our bilingual COVID-19 Hotline at 844.542.8201 (select option 8 to speak with a navigator) from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. except for major holidays.
