About Mike Sheldon

Mike Sheldon is the Chief Executive Officer of the Arizona State Hospital and a Deputy Director with the Arizona Department of Health Services. Mike has been with ADHS for 10 years, during which he has served in several critical roles, including a Bureau Chief for the Division of Behavioral Health Services, the Chief Operating Officer of the Arizona State Hospital and, currently, the CEO at ASH. Prior to joining ASH in 2017, Mike was the Director of Operations for two crisis observation and inpatient psychiatric facilities in Phoenix and Tucson, AZ. In total, Mike has worked in Arizona’s behavioral health system, in both the public and private sectors for approximately 15 years. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Western Michigan University, and a Master of Public Administration degree from Arizona State University.
