About Yomaira Diaz
Yomaira D. Castillo (Yomy) is the Injury Prevention Program Manager at the Arizona Department of Health Services, as well as the Safe Kids Arizona coordinator and has been at the department for 13 years. Yomy was born and raised in Parker, AZ and started her career in Injury prevention in Tucson. During her time in Tucson she was the Safe Kids Pima Coordinator as well as the community outreach specialist where she enjoyed working with the community at the grassroots level. Yomy understands that injuries has no socioeconomic status and affects everyone. Yomy has been in the injury prevention field for 20+ years now, she is currently the co-chair for the Safe Sleep Task Force, a certificated Child Passenger Safety Instructor as well as the host for the Injury Prevention Advisory Council for the state of Arizona. Yomy is passionate about keeping Arizona’s children safe no matter what environment they are in. When Yomy is not traveling around the state talking or educating families on Injury Prevention, she enjoys spending time with her family.
