Every year our most popular annual report (it’s not even close) is called the Arizona Health Status and Vital Statistics Annual Report. We released the 2012 Arizona Health Status and Vital Statistics Annual Report this week- and this time it’s mobile friendly so can pull it up on your IPad, IPhone and other Android devices. The document contains hotlinks and it takes you right to a particular statistic and/or table within seconds. Here are a few snippets from this year’s report:
- The number of cardiac arrest survivors has increased by 50% in the last couple of years.
- The teen pregnancy rates continued to drop to historic lows- declining 37% between 2007 and 2012.
- The total number of births (85,725) increased for the first time since 2007.
- The 2012 infant mortality rate was the lowest in our State’s history.
- Deaths from crashes decreased by 5% and deaths from overdose of painkillers decreased 6.4%.
- Deaths from diabetes increased by 58% between 2009 and 2012.
- Deaths from HIV/AIDS decreased due to availability of HIV medications, and increased access to medications and care via AHCCCS, Ryan White programs, and ADAP.
