In the next 2 decades Arizona’s population will age rapidly, increasing the demand for services related to management of chronic illnesses and disability, as well as increase health care and long term care costs. That’s why we need to focus efforts to improve the health and wellbeing of all older adults in Arizona.

Our new Report on the State of Aging in Arizona – 2010  examines the demographic characteristics, quality of life, chronic diseases trends and health behaviors of Arizona’s aging population- and identifies opportunities for health promotion and risk reduction that can improve the health status and quality of life for older adults.  It also provides information to state and local government agencies, as well as nonprofits and the business sector for planning, allocation of resources, partnership and policy development- emphasizing healthy aging and making sure older adults remain engaged in communities across Arizona.
