We were excited to roll out the new cottage industry food law last week because it provides new fundraising and self-employment for folks.  Our brand-new cottage industry food website lays out some of the information folks will need to turn the key- including sample recipe’s and labels, ingredient templates, and how to get a food handler card if their county requires one. The new website also has a feature for folks to register (as required by the new law).

While the new law (A.R.S. 36-136 (H)(4)(g)) requires us to update the Administrative Code (Rules) to reflect the new exemption, it’s also sufficiently prescriptive to implement immediately.  In fact, the statute was so prescriptive that our newly published proposed rules use almost the exact same language that was in the statute.
